How to Grow Your Email List with Pinterest When You Have Little Content
Right now, you’ve got little content on your site.
And when that time of the week comes when you need to create another piece of content, you’re dreading it.
All you can think about is how you’d rather be spending time helping your course students and coaching clients. Making an impact in their lives.
But you also know that you need to continue creating content if you want more and more people to get to know about your business.
But here’s the thing…
Last video you published, you only got a few new email subscribers from it.
Same thing with that other blog post you wrote.
That’s frustrating. All that time spent creating content and it didn’t bring you nearly enough new leads (if any).
So let’s change that.
In this video, I cover:
Why more content is *not* the answer (1:41)
The #1 mistake people make when building their list that hurts sales (6:48)

How to Grow Your Email List on Pinterest
Now, there’s a growing trend in the advice you hear from “experts” out there.
Create more content!
Create more freebies!
Post as often as possible!
I beg to differ.
The reason is that these strategies are simply not sustainable. It’s just TOO TIME-CONSUMING and it does NOT lead to more SALES.
Let me explain.
Why More Content is Not the Answer
From being in marketing for over 14 years, I can tell you that it’s only a minority of content that drives the majority of traffic.
It’s those golden posts that truly resonate with your audience. It’s those videos that went viral.
Having 10 high-quality pieces of content will beat having 50 mediocre ones any day.
So the key to success is to focus on quality over quantity.
Select a frequency which you’re comfortable with (monthly, bi-weekly or weekly), focus on creating quality content and stick with it.
Consistency is important here. Publishing fresh content is rewarded by Pinterest (and they have publicly acknowledged it too).
The #1 Mistake People Make when Building their List that Hurts Sales
We are all natural givers.
We want to serve our potential course students and coaching clients best. We want to help them. We want to give them tools.
But sometimes, we just end up giving away too much. I know because that used to be me!
You’ve heard this advice before: “create one content upgrade or freebie per post”. They’ll tell you this will help grow your list faster.
But here’s what they don’t tell you:
It’ll quickly become a nightmare to manage all those opt-in forms and email sequences.
Not to mention the time you’ll have to spend on creating all those freebies.
Time which quite frankly would be better spent on promoting your courses and packages, and serving your paying clients and students.
I know I’m saying the opposite of what most “experts” say out there. But hear me out.
My Favorite Way to Grow my Email List with Pinterest
When I went from 15-20 freebies down to 1 core lead magnet, my email list exploded.
The journey on my site for turning visitors into email subscribers is much clearer. Because it all leads down to one path now.
“All roads lead to Rome…”
Same concept here.
No matter where you are on my site, I take you through one clear path. And that resulted in a growth of my email list.
Bonus, I don’t spend time anymore creating new freebies and can instead put more of my focus now on promoting and creating paid content.
What You Can Do to Grow Your List
When you think about the existing content you have on your site, what can you do to make it easier for your visitors to become email subscribers?
Make the path as clear as possible. Simplify the journey by focusing on 1 lead magnet that is directly related to your course or coaching package.
Focus on creating high-quality content that speaks to your audience objections.
Aim for quality over quantity (always!), while maintaining consistency.
I KNOW this is different from all the other advice “experts” are giving out there. But they’re wrong!
It simply is not sustainable to create all those freebies without wasting precious resources and time. And worst, it doesn’t lead to more leads…
Instead focus on creating high-quality content in a consistent manner. And make the path to becoming an email subscriber crystal clear for your site visitors.
Your time is better spent serving your clients and students and on revenue generating-activities, than on creating more and more freebies. That’s how you impact lives. That’s how you can truly make a difference.
